Barr Shows Up at Netroots Nation

AUSTIN -- A second surprise guest at Netroots Nation 2008 is generating hallway buzz: Bob Barr. Yep -- that Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party presidential nominee, civil liberties advocate and former Georgia Republican representative.
Barr is in town as the featured draw at tonight's closing reception at the Right Online Summit of right-wing bloggers and online activists sponsored by the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, also ongoing today in Austin.
A third-party political candidate, Barr's visit to the hallways of Netroots Nation to mingle with progressive bloggers -- he bought a ticket, just like any other attendee, says a convention source -- shows him trying to try to reach out to folks on both sides of the aisle.

Accept, the alternative is a 72 year old demented deranged war mongering Viet Nam burn out living in the past. I see enough of those crazies at the VFW.
+++++
Sick and tired of Obama, already. The honeymoon's been over months ago.

Even Bob Barr gets it that this country is in a bad way. McCain is totally oblivious to what shape all of our affairs are in. He and his crowd would be just happy as pigs in s*** to keep things just the way they are.

Barr may not be perfect (or even close), but compared to other jokers, he's Mt. Rushmore material.
I'll vote for him -- and I won't even hold my nose doing so.

Re: Trust in God
Mr. President, could you please call Watertown Police Station at 617-972-6500?
If you do so, then I will explain what is happening here in US. There are major communication problems.
Thank you.

Bob Barr is a nutbag, but I hope he steals votes from McCain.

Bob Barr has a deep appreciation for the US Constitution and our American civil liberties. I am so glad that we have an alternative to McCain and Obama.

Good for Barr, the lying sack of sh*t. Until the Libs recruited him, he was against medical marijuana and other standard platform issues for us Libertarians. He is more bogus than Obama or McSleepy.

Good to see him getting out to events like this. He has very good things to say and is very challenging to Obama and McCain. I hope he does well.

I'd imagine that Barr is approachable so, if her bosses allow it, perhaps GFR might consider actually asking him a thing or two. Here's a starting point for some questions:

I am glad to see Barr reaching out to both the left and the right. Obama bragged about inhaling marijuana, but why isn't he sponsoring Senate versions of HR 5842 and HR 5843? McCain supports free markets, but why won't he stand up for marijuana dealers?
