Video: Hostettler Keeps it in the Family

Incumbent Rep. John Hostettler has shown an ability to run and win in Indiana's highly competitive "Bloody 8th" Congressional district without raising much money or hiring professional political consultants. Hostettler has won election here six times, the first with the Republican wave in 1994.

But polls show that Hostettler is now in a tough race with Democrat Brad Ellsworth, who has a staff of campaign professionals. The unknown variable in the race is Hostettler's grassroots get-out-the-vote effort, which has propelled him to past victories.

In the video below, Karen Hammonds, Hostettler's sister and campaign office manager tells Chris Cillizza and Jim VandeHei about the congressman's shoestring approach to campaigning.
