Giuliani, Romney and Thompson on Health Care
Giuliani continues to use the questions directed at him to attack Democrats while avoiding any attacks on his Republican allies.

On health care, Giuliani said the plans to reform the system proposed by Democrats amount to "socialized medicine." He advocated a free market with all Americans making different decisions. "Socialized medicine will ruin medicine in the United States," he said to a sustained applause.
Romney attacked both Washington -- "where everything becomes a mess" -- and the Democratic party for promoting "socialized medicine." He used the health care question to highlight his resume as a doer during his gubernatorial term in Massachusetts; "I'm the guy who actually tackled this issue," he said.
Tommy Thompson, who is widely credited as an innovator on health care policy, was clearly overjoyed at getting a chance to answer a question on his key issue. He did well, enjoying his best moment of any of the three debates.

Correction to the previous comment-- the Republican candidates are all pitiful except Ron Paul.
He is the only one who says something different (and actually right) on the war, and he would have done a good job on the health care question if he'd gotten a chance. The time given to all the candidates was so uneuqal.
Tommy Thompson hadn't impressed me before now, but I did like his healthcare answer; I wish CNN hadn't cut him off and had allowed him to talk more. I wish any of the other 7 candidates would have been allowed to talk more-- it's interesting to hear what they bring to the table and I prefer them to Giuliani and Romney. Ugh! Those two are so pandering with everything they say.

Chris, an aside about the Dem and Rep debates: Why is Larry King so involved (was all over the place with the Dem debate)? Could CNN not find a journalist and were reduced to using an entertainer/softball interviewer? CNN seems to be becoming all Larry all the time!
The Republic candidates are all pitiful. They have only one talking point--war issues. Any of the Democratic candidates would be better than any of these folks.
