Lightning From the Heavens? Abortion Politics
Debates are VERY unpredictable.

Take the stunning coincidence of a series of lightning strikes in Manchester disrupting Giuliani's answer about his views on abortion -- at the very moment he tried to address a critical quote from a Catholic Bishop that CNN's Wolf Blitzer had read to him. Giuliani played the moment up (smartly) and his rivals went along -- keeping away from him as though he might get struck any minute.
But then Giuliani reiterated his support for abortion rights, a stance that continues to be problematic to him in the Republican nomination fight. He said he "consult[s]" his religion on the issues but did not believe that people who sought an abortion should be thrown in jail.
Romney stuck to his past script when asked about his change of position on abortion. "I am not going to apologize for the fact that I became pro-life," he said, adding that the people of New Hampshire knew that he had "fought" for life and traditional marriage among other issues.

Please, Chris, if you have any independence, call out CNN at their own game. The production values of this debate were flawed, Wolf Blitzer is a whiny moderator, and the producers should be called out for deliberate FAVORITISM. In BOTH debates, the front runners according to the polls were center stage. They didn't even try to be impartial.

Who cares. A republican will never get elected president unless they steal the election like they did in 2000 and 2004.

Too bad the Post is censoring Dr. Ron Paul like CNN did. They left him out of the candidates participating in yesterday's edition, and they did not record but one of his answers. Shame on you. Ron Paul is the GOP's only chance for getting the Oval Office in 2008. Some of you would be surprised at how much you agree with his platform.
