Stickin' Up for Scooter
Sen. Sam Brownback and Rep. Tom Tancredo would pardon former vice presidential chief of staff Scooter Libby.
Giuliani seemed to be leaning that way, calling the 30-month sentence handed down today "excessive punishment."
Romney mentioned that he had not pardoned anyone as governor, but that prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald "clearly abused prosecutorial discretion" to carry out a "political vendetta" against Libby and the White House.

The fact that these guys would let a criminal off just because he is "one of them", is a real turn off. How can people like this swear an oath and lie - ok, I understand - they are politicians...

It figures that Tancredo & Brownback would jump at the chance to defend Libby. It builds their super-con credentials with the radical base.

"Sen. Sam Brownback and Rep. Tom Tancredo would pardon former vice presidential chief of staff Scooter Libby."
Sure, and then they'd dig up Terry Schiavo and perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on her. Classic neocon behavior: fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
