Hammering Fred
One-liners were the rule when it came to a question about why Fred Thompson wasn't a part of the debate tonight.
Former Gov. Mike Huckabee: "I was scheduled to be on Jay Leno but I gave up my slot for somebody else because I'd rather be in New Hampshire with these fine people."
McCain: "Maybe we're up past his bedtime..."
Former Gov. Mitt Romney: "Why the hurry? Why not take some more time off?"
Giuliani: "I think he has done a pretty good job of playing my part on Law & Order. I prefer the real thing."

I understand their fear: Fred Thompson is the conservative that will win the GOP nomination and beat Hillary in a landslide. These men wanted the job of chief executive and now it's slipping through their fingers. One of them will probably be his VP selection, if that's any consolation. http://www.Fred08.com
