Revisiting Readers' Nev. and S.C. Predictions

Over the weekend, Fix readers were asked to predict how things would turn out in the Nevada caucuses and the South Carolina GOP primary. The prize? The rarely seen -- and even more rarely won -- official Fix t-shirt.

Politics producer Sarah Lovenheim combed the predictions and plucked out two winners: The Fix posters who came closest to the mark in the Nevada Democratic race and the South Carolina Republican contest.

Congrats to Screetchdog, who accurately called Hillary Clinton's win in the Nevada Democratic caucus at 51 percent and to edwardlahoa, who predicted John McCain would win the GOP South Carolina primary and carry the field with 33 percent of the vote.

If you are either "Screetchdog" or "edwardslahoa", drop me a line at chris DOT cillizza AT washingtonpost DOT com to tell me where to send your Fix t-shirt.

To those of you who didn't win, The Fix is all about second (and third) chances. This Saturday's South Carolina Democratic primary is fast approaching, so keep your eyes on The Fix later this week for another chance to claim a coveted Fix tee.

Unfortunately dirty politicking often pays off...
The Clintons well formed strategies will once again have "Them" on the Democratic ticket for President and McCain, probably the Republican ticket...

Both of these candidates are heavily indebted to the lobbyist...

Ain't America wonderful???... The land of paid media manipulation for gaining popular opinion.. Guess who wins or should we say "looses" for America.

As an Obama supporter, it pains me to say this, but here are my predictions for the final tally after the SC Democratic primary--

Clinton 42%
Obama 39%
Edwards 19%

What the news story will be--Clinton nails down nomination with surprise victory in South Carolina.

What the news stories SHOULD say--Bill Clinton wins third term.

hinamanu has been conned by the weasel words of Obama and the rage from Edwards. A recent Pew poll showed 90% of Americans happy or very happy with their lot in the USA. Continuous polls show state and local governments enjoy strong support. America doesn't need change, unless its getting rid of the constitution and starting again (not gunna happen)! The USA needs to balance its budget, spend less than it earns for a decade or more, Universal Health, get rid of Homeland Security, reduce tax rates across the board, enforce the borders and deport illegal immigrants, stop spending its treasure on Arabs, Africans and Asians and spend it on the US. Other than that, change is just a buzz word and Obama is all sizzle no steak.

I totally agree with you. We need to dig ourselves out from the poor judgments of the past 25 years.

With his intelligence and broad sweep of appeal, Obama is the only candidate who can lead that kind of initiative and Edwards would make a formidable partner in VP.

I like senator Edwards.
I like his style, his attitude, his overall demeanour. This is all probably because I like his oratory.
he has a fine outstanding message of substance and his virtues as a southern gentleman come across refinedly well. His arguments are solid and his insights and life experiences profound.

Now, I'm an Obabma man. America does'nt need more policy, it needs huge sweeping change
and the political status quo dealt to. it's that horrific and toxic status quo that produced the likes of J Edgar Hoover, McCarthy, Nixon and Bush. terrible neo cons who invaded and destroyed lives and families. and basically with unproven cliches. Right up till now. More than anything else at this present time america needs change from the clear and present danger within its borders.

My hope is that is that America will indeed vote for Obama and that in turn Obama will invite senator Edwards as hiis VP. This will present two great healthy and long needed iniatives to the White House. A representative of black America and a representative of southern America. The south needs representation in a big way and not only that but the south is becoming a united voice
like no time since the civil war. John Edwards defends the Stars and Bars and talks of two Americas. Two Americas are a reality and the north created the civil war because it feared the south and wanted it stopped. Recently in the last few years there has developed a renaissance
in the south and the people have revived their pride and heritage and are taking steps to voice themselves very substantially over the next two years. For senator Edwards to voice his loyalties so unashamedly in the public arena is a signal he has a supported confidence. If the south itself becomes aware of his bold verbal affirmations at a time they are regenarating their culture there is no reason in the next few months to see a surge that could well put Edwards and Obama in the white House.

Have you noticed how well they get on together even in the debates. The suggestion that Hillary
and Edwards are colluding is I think a red herring. The communication between himself and Obama seems more tangible. their communication continues after the debates whereas Hillaries doesn't.
