The Fix on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter
Nineteen months down, five to go!
In a presidential campaign that hasn't stopped making news for the better part of the last year and a half, the decision by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) to formally step aside in favor of Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) on Saturday gives The Fix a rare opportunity to slow down.
And, when we slow down, we get reflective about the cool (and colorful) community we have built on The Fix since we started this thing up way back in October 2005. In the first post ever on the site, we emphasized the interactive element of the blog and urged you to get involved.
Man, have you responded!
Seeking to build on the success we've had in creating an online community of political junkies (Fixistas unite!), we've expanded into all sorts of social networking territory of late -- The Fix is nothing if not current -- and wanted to bring you up to speed on it.
First of all, we now have a YouTube channel devoted to posting FixCam videos as well as the occasional bonus video for subscribers. If you want to subscribe, just go to the channel and hit the yellow "subscribe" button. The Fix sat down (virtually) for an interview with the guys -- and gal -- from YouTube to talk about how video is changing journalism and how we incorporate it on the site. (Do yourself a favor and bookmark Citizen Tube, You Tube's politics vlog.)
On Facebook, The Fix has long had a personal page but we've just recently established an official Fix fans page where Fixistas can congregate, kibbitz, complain or cherish their membership in the world's most exclusive club. (Ok, that may be a slight exaggeration.) But, check it out anyway. (It's the best way, going forward, to get in touch with me online.)
The Fix also Twitters. If you are looking for regular updates on The Fix's comings and goings (and who isn't) make sure to sign up.
Thus ends the shameless self promotion. Have a great Sunday!

The latest exchanges over the future of Jerusalem and attitude towards Iran show clearly that both canidates are massively being pressured by these lobby-groups. A discussion over the real decisionmakers for the US foreign politics, the decision over new wars in the middle east etc seems to be pudically avoided. Why ? The endless and mostly repetitive blogs unfortunately dont take into account that there are powerful kingmakers in the background and that they know how to instrumentalize the election. Is this kind of lobbying compatible with democracy ? Let te others know.

It is really not posable to blog on here anymore. It is now the equivalent to people writing on bathroom walls and getting some perverse kick out of it. They need some sort of reregistering process.

Since Obama's resume is so thin and weak we need to be able to evaluate him based on his actions this year in this campaign.
1) He committed FRAUD against his own campaign theme in South Carolina
2) He falsely accused Gerry Ferraro of making "offensive remarks" and then carried on as if she had made horrible racial slurs to his face.
3) He attempted to win over Superdelegates with a racist argument that there would be "riots in the streets" if the superdelegates did not vote for the black man.
4) His conduct on several occassions was disrespectful, for instance going on stage while Hillary was still speaking so the networks would go to him - this was rude conduct
5) He ran his campaign in a racially divisive way - he sought to bully the whites into voting racially, and seeking out and making up FALSE CLAIMS OF RACIAL OFFENSE while seeking to unite the black community behind him along racial lines.
All I can say Obama is you can not have it both ways, you look like a complete hypocrite and a fraud.
We can add to that the OFFENSES AGAINST DEMOCRACY of Obama seeking to prevent the revotes in Michigan and Florida - and instead his supporters wanted those states to count HALF, instead of FULL, if those revotes took place - while that may look smart on the surface, it shows that his tactics are more SOVIET STYLE seeking to limit elections rather than empower people.
See, there are two strains within the BLACK community, one seeks to empower people, the other seeks government programs, hand-outs and is bascially more socialist. Clearly, Obama comes from the higher tax, socialist part of the black community.
The clear headed portion of the black community believes
1) One does not mix the gospel with politics.
2) Empowerment is the key to advancement
3) Working hard, getting ahead, without affirmative action or other hand-outs is the path out of poverty and the bad neighborhoods.
4) This group takes personal responsibility.
5) The empowerment people are personal-based, they do not care about Jim Crow or and they are not seeking compensation for something that happened to their grandparents or great-grandparents.
Obama is a confused man, not a leader.

You know what is incredibly funny? Hillary signaled her intention to end her campaign almost a week ago, and the coverage is still "ALL ABOUT HILLARY". It's beginning to look like Obama needs the drama she generates to sustain his own buzz. Without her as a foil, he's not too exciting or interesting.
I wish Clinton would go on a vacation until November. Then, the country would forget Obama is running.

a problem
Might be a good idea to get out the vote in November

Chris,
Are you branching out to other online technologies because the Post is unable or unwilling even to follow its own comment guidelines?
I'll at least visit the new Fix online channels, if only to see whether the offer a means to escape the unsigned, repetitive rants that have become the rule rather than the exception here.

I see trouble already. Twitters does not indicate that The Fix has time to pee. Is this too much information? I shall now proceed to read the full rules governing commentaries and discussions and try to learn why the Fix would ever want to Be Like Arriana.
Hey, why are there so many duplicates of readers' posts? And the comments here are not appropriate to the subject, which I thought was Fix's adventures beyond the basic blog.

Obama's nomination is TAINTED by Obama's actions seeking to prevent a revote in Michigan and Florida.
Obama's nomination is tainted by Obama's running of a racial campaign in South Carolina which made his campaign theme which was supposed to be post-racial a complete FRAUD.
Obama's nomination is tainted because of Obama's racist approach to the Superdelegates AND the failure of the Superdelegates to evaluate the strength of the two candidates, instead subtituting essentially racist movitation into the last lospided 230 - 40 Superdelegate votes.
