Who's the Most Untradeable Player?

With trade talks swirling around some of baseball's best young talent, the winter meetings (Dec. 3-6) could get very interesting. But while the current employers of the likes of Johan Santana, Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis ponder what they might get in return, we're wondering who is the one player in any sport a team would be most crazy to trade away.

Brett Favre. The big cheese.

Kobe Bryant - everyone would like to have him, but no one can afford him. They can't afford the draft choices, players, and money it would cost. And most teams REALLY can't afford the killjoy factor he brings into the locker room.

Donovan McNab, unwanted/untradeable.

Posted by: gtom | November 29, 2007 10:54 PM

Kobe, with his ridiculous trade clauses.

Lebron James - Born & raised in the same town that he plays in... A team guy... Without him Cleveland would be lucky to win 30 games... he fills the seats every night.

btw... I hate Lebron James, just kills the Wizards!

Miguel Tejada! Don't you think the O's would have traded him by now??? ;)

Tim Duncan=NBA championships and class!! Many would love to have him but it will never happen!!

Posted by: Terry from WV | November 30, 2007 2:16 AM

Tom Brady, Derek Jeter and LaBron James

Posted by: Joe | November 30, 2007 7:15 AM

I think Lebron James is the most logical answer. While Tom Brady is one of the all time greats, the Patriots could still be a playoff team with an average quarterback. The Cavaliers would be one of the worst teams in the league without Lebron. The guy has 0 talent around him.

The Fabulous Pigboy Crabshaw. Irreplaceable.

Art Rooney often told reporters that one player he would have never traded: Joe Greene - cornerstone of the Steelers 70's Dynasty.

Posted by: Steel City | November 30, 2007 10:09 AM

Rex Grossman

Peyton Manning, he makes everyone around him that much better than they are individually.

Posted by: knoxvillenat | November 30, 2007 10:32 AM

Definitely Beckham in the MLS.
Knoxvillenat- certainly Peyton Manning believes that.
Chris - LeBron James is not a logical answer. People, can you get off the bandwagon? For being called the next MJ, the guy was 4th in the league in scoring last year (sorry, Kobe, Carmelo and Gil are the top three) and pales in comparison with MJ's defense (MJ, like, totally won defensive player of the year. Yes it matters.). I hate Kobe but he's the best. GO Wizards.

I have to add that Shirley Povich told me that Willie Mays was the best player he ever saw, and that's saying a lot.

Posted by: Carl | November 30, 2007 12:25 PM

Tiger Woods

Posted by: KJ | November 30, 2007 1:20 PM

Right "now" I would say Tony Romo, as he is the hottest QB in the league and the fans and media love him and Jones would be shot if he traded him.

Posted by: Steve Austin | November 30, 2007 2:56 PM

rock cartwright

Posted by: tugboat | November 30, 2007 3:12 PM

Shaq.

Oh, wait...

Posted by: Freddy Adu | November 30, 2007 4:49 PM

Ovechkin would get my vote. The Capitals are literally worthless without him.

Meadowlark Lemon

Posted by: regpither | November 30, 2007 8:57 PM

Shouldn't untradeable be the guy who the team can't move?

Posted by: Anonymous | November 30, 2007 11:30 PM

Labron James

Posted by: buttonz | December 6, 2007 7:34 PM
