Which Team Will Win the NBA Title?
Our previous question was which team would win the Stanley Cup. Well, this week, we wanted to ask a completely different question, so we took the radical step of switching leagues, from the NHL all the way to the NBA. Thus our brand-new question this week is: Which team will win the NBA title?

Wiz over Celtics in Eastern Conf. Lakers over Wiz for the Championship.

The DEtroit Pistons. They have a paved path. First-round against a stumbling Toronto or inexperienced 76ers. They'll be well rested for the conference semis against Orlando. Wiz beat Cavs. Celtics-Wizards series runs 6 or 7 games. Pistons match up well against either of these teams if they've been worn down. Same principal will work in the title series. Whichever team from the West emerges will be dragging butt.

Wizard vs. Lakers= Wizards in Game 7! No Joke! It's that time!

Superman reigns supreme...Orlando shocks the basketball world.

You actually have to play defense in the playoffs in order to win, so the Wizards will be lucky to get by Cleveland.
We're headed for Spurs over Detroit, unless David Stern tells the refs to do everything they can to make it Lakers against Celtics.

Lakers and the Celtics and Kobe and the Lakers win. Go Lakers.

The Georgetown Hoyas!

I want to say the Wiz and them gold jerseys will win it all but I'm no good at this. NBA is fixed anyways so I think it will be a flashback to the days of old Lakers-Celtics, with the Celtics winning in 6 games. Go WIZARDS

I see the Wizards definitely getting past Cleveland...they cant get beat 3 years in a row...but when they run into the Celtics or Detroit..it will be a different story. In the WEST...everyone saw the Headlines...LAKERS are back on top...1st round sweep, 2nd round in 6 and the west finals in 6 and the finals will be in 6. LAKERS WILL BE THE CHAMPS!!

I'm a Wiz fan, but want to point this out: What is the common theme among the major sports team champions this year(?): the team colors of red, white, and blue (NY Giants and Kansas). So that should mean that Detroit in the NBA, and Montreal in the NHL should have the best chances of winning it all.

NBA championship game Utah -vs- Wiz. Utah wins the championship in a six game 4-2.

The NBA seems to like to "arrange" its finals. The ideal western scenario would be for Shaq to hook-up against Kobe at some point. No one cares about Houston, San Antonio, Utah, Portland or Dallas. Denver has a bit of appeal w/ 'Melo and AI. So either the Lakers or the Suns out of the west, probably the Lakers. Big media market, Kobe, Phil. In the East, no one (outside of their market) cares about the Wizards, Sixers, Hawks, Magic or Raptors. That brings it down to Lebron, the Celtics and the Pistons. The Celtics are the years big story, the Pistons are been there done that. Look for a throwback Laker-Celtic series w/ the Celtics winning it in 6. Book it.

New York Knicks baby!!!!

No one has mentioned the Hornets yet. Granted, they have some weaknesses that might hold them back but they had a fine season and when they're at their best, they seem hard to beat. Not crazy about the match up with Dallas . . .

Celtics over Jazz in the finals. Seriously.

what scott said. Celtics.

This is trash. Did you watch last night's game? One of the best, most exciting games in NBA history was played by the Spurs. They are a very exciting team to watch with the insanely creative and unpredictable Ginobili and Parker and they just play great basketball. If you watch their games, you realize they're not boring. Last year they had the best offensive efficiency in the NBA. They score oodles of points against fast-paced teams and are just better than other teams at everything. The reason they don't score many points in the regular season and against slow-paced teams is that they are the best passing team in the league, and use the full shot clock to get good shots. I'd rather watch that than LeBron, Dallas or the Pistons dribble in place constantly and play no-pass isolations for 48 minutes.

Wow, Another comment about how boring the SPURS are. The same hack who wrote these comments would be kissing the Spurs ass if the team was located in Los Angelos or New York.

After one of if not the greatest game ever played does this idiot still think the Spurs are boring? What a moron.
Posted by: Jeff M. | April 21, 2008 4:21 AM
What a joke of an article! Wow, call the Spurs boring, how original! And you watched how many Spurs games since 2003?
They have consistently played basketball the right way, using fundamental principles of the game to win consistently and often spectacularly. How exactly is that boring again? Oh, that's right, it's not, except to those who have no interest in great basketball.
Populist writing like this, which appeals to the lowest common denominator without making any kind of logical case, is the epitome of BORING.

Spurs aren't boring. I like basketball, and they play good basketball.

If I hear one more uneducated, overrated, outdated sports writer - who's just upset their favorite team sucks - complain about the Spurs being (of all things?) "boring," I'm going to give them a good freakin' Robert Horry hip-check into the side of their undeserved little desks. The people who think the Spurs are boring and predictable are the same morons that followed Ginobili into the lane while Duncan sealed game 1's momentum (and ultimately the win) with only his 4th career 3-pointer. If you're still out there whining about the Spurs being boring, its time to take off that bleached jean jacket, toss that Journey tape out of your Trans-Am and WAKE UP! News flash morons!!!...Game 1 was probably the most "un-boring" playoff game I've ever seen - rivaling Sean Elliot's Memorial Day Miracle.

The tag of boring for the Spurs is simply because they are a small market team. Put the same team in NY, Boston or LA and the media would have been going crazy for their primary 3-4 players for years. In reality Manu Ginobili plays the game in about the most exciting way possible always taking risks and Parker is as quick as anyone in the league to the hole and makes incredible shots routinely.
Duncan is not boring if someone really follows the game and appreciates the brilliance of his total game.
By the way the Spurs big three are collectively younger than either the Suns or the Celtics.
The truth winning is boring to some but there is a reason the Spurs have the highest winning percentage in professsional sports the last 10 years and 4 titles (and will add another this year) is because they are much, much better athletes and champions than the public or the over-hype in the media of other teams realizes.
It is a shame, appreciate this true team, they are one of the best in history and will prove it this year.

It has already been said but this writer suffers from "cliche wisdom." If you hear it enough and you say it enough it must be true, right?
The Spurs are anything but boring. This guy obviously doesn't watch the games. He is just reading other commentary (from likewise lame writers) and serving up a reworded version.

game 1 of the spurs suns was anything but boring. there are no boring games in the playoffs. I guess you could say the most boring was the magic raptors or even celtics hawks but only because there game 1's did not end up close or go to OT.
