Bad Boys

Paging security to the second stage. Security to the second stage, please. The testosterone levels over here seem to be exceptionally high -- and they're rising now that Bad Brains are playing that pulverizing hardcore of theirs.

Just a little crowd surfing (Pouya Dianat - The Washington Post)

"Right Brigade"? More like riot brigade. Earl Hudson's hyper-speed drumming, Dr. Know's savage, metallic riffs, Darryl Jennifer's thundering bass lines, H.R.'s manic braying -- it's inciting the crowd. Thankfully, the group just followed the overheated "Banned in D.C." with an icy-cool dub reggae song.

Still, things aren't likely to calm down over here. Not with Wu-Tang Clan about to bring the ruckus, with Velvet Revolver and 311 to follow.

By the by, H.R. seems to exist in an alternate universe these days. But he seems pretty present on stage today.

Also very much present: security. This festival seems to be pretty well-staffed.
