More Than Just Music

Feel the love -- and the heat
Walking between the two stages gave me a chance to survey some of the concession booths and other diversions. Very popular? Shade tent. Kinda popular? Beer booth. Not so popular? Shrimp on a stick.
I walk by the Guitar Hero II booth and there's a girl doing a pretty weak run through Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box." But that just puts her technical skills on about the same level as Kurt Cobain, so it's all good. The tent with temporary tattoos and the Hon Salon (where ladies can get beehive hairdos) is surprisingly packed. But pretty much any place that offers shade is crowded at this point. Someone whines, "I thought it would be cooler in here!" It's still oppressively hot in the shade, but it's nice to get a reprieve from the sun. But it's back out there now to check out the Fratellis.
