Not-So-Spontaneous Combustion

The Seattle band Aiden landed a spot on the V-Fest schedule by winning a contest late last month. But singer wiL (no, not a typo) Francis isn't happy just to be here. He wants chaos in the crowd, and he wants it now. So he's orchestrating -- no, demanding -- a mosh pit for the post-hardcore band's final song.

"This is not for the faint of heart," he says on the second stage. "If you have a heart condition, you might want to step to the back of the audience." And then the band rips into "I Set My Friends On Fire," a hard, heavy song full of bruising riffs and howling, guttural vocals. Sure enough, Francis gets his wish as the human battering rams
gathered around the stage spend the next few minutes crashing into each other.
