Seth Speaks
In the hour before the start of the festival, promoter Seth Hurwitz hardly appeared stressed. "I can't think of a better way to spend a summer day," he said while driving around Pimlico in an electric-powered golf cart. "It's a blast being able to put on a show like this. Last year was the most fun show I've ever done."
No worries about the weather, with temperatures already starting to soar and a forecast to reach into the high 90s? "I feel good that we have enough shade tents and water and misters to give people relief," he said. "There's the people who don't know how to take care of themselves, and you can't do much for them. But the people who can take care of themselves -- we're ready for them."
As for his picks, Hurwitz said: "I like the Patriots-Saints in the Super Bowl." More seriously, he said: "I like Cheap Trick. I'm excited to see if Amy Winehouse shows up. I'm excited about Spoon because I like the album. When it gets to the end of the day and it's all the stuff people are excited about, that excites me. I'm excited about seeing people have fun."
