McCain Unveils Virginia Leadership Team

Arizona Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, announced today the members of his Virginia "grassrooots leadership team," who will oversee voter identification and get-out-the-vote operations in each of the state's 134 jurisdictions.
Under McCain's organizational structure, each of Virginia's 95 counties and 39 cities will have a designated chairperson who coordinates local campaign activities, including recruiting volunteers.
"We are organized and enthusiastic about getting John McCain's positive message to Virginians," said Bobby Lee May, the chairman for McCain's efforts in Buchanan County, which is located in Southwest Virginia. " John McCain will help protect coal miners' jobs and our Second Amendment rights. We believe that John McCain has been tested and is the best person to lead our country in these times as we continue to need strong, proven leadership."
Later today, U.S. Reps. Thelma D. Drake, Eric Cantor and Rob Wittman, all Republicans, will hold a press conference in Washington to discuss McCain's plans for lowering the price of gas in Virginia.

The McCain "leadership team's" priority of "voter identification" (black voter disenfranchisement effort)is not going to get any "positive message" across.

McCain ought to make a strong effort in Northern Virigina as well as the rest if the state.
Many of us up north are sick of having Obama shoved down our throats!

I am sick of all of them. I already have people kncking on my door and making phonecalls. Not to mention the tv ads already. 100 more days of this crap.

Eric Cantor is one of the congressmen announcing McCain's leadership team in Virginia? This couldn't be better news for Obama -- Cantor is so ultra right-wing and bigoted that Johnny McSame being associated with Cantor is just hanging another giant millstone around his neck.
Well done, GOP -- keep up the great work helping us turn Virginia blue in 2008!

I can't wait to see Timmy Kaine and Dougie Wilder go down in defeat!

List of this sort are pretty much meaningless. They reflect a campaign leadership that is more adept at filling in the blanks on a chart than at keeping on a positive message.
His national team is amazingly unimpressive. Once he dumped Phil Gramm, a political operative paid by a Swiss bank that is under federal investigation, Carley Fiona stepped forward. She is best remembered as the abrasive head of Hewlett-Packard who was fired by the board of directors for non-performance. McCain can sure pick 'em. Watch him fall back on the Bush/Cheney neocons to an increasing degree as his campaign flounders.

Can they be trusted? Or will they be like some of Hillary's staff? The undercover Obama spies. Will they stand up for McCain? Much of Hillary's staff didn't.

Obama will prob not win VA. The kinds of democrats that have been winning are not ultra-liberal, but generally very centrist dems. McCain is enormously popular in VA and is seen as a centrist and that is the most important thing in VA.

Obama is all show, no substance. Surely, Virginians are smart enough to see that!

Eric Csntor is bright and articulate. He has been good for Virginia and will be a thoughtful member of the McCain team, eminently electable.
