... ZaraCom Technologies of Rockville, which develops artificial intelligence technology. The competition, sponsored by Rockville Economic Development Inc., was for business plans from women-owned firms.
ZaraCom aids wireless carriers in identifying bottlenecks on their networks to better manage traffic flow, reports Sharon McLoone over at the Small Business blog.
Other winners: InfraTrac, a Silver Spring firm that uses technology to detect counterfeit medications; Baltimore-based Syan Biosciences, which offers "lab on a chip" technology; and Turning Point, a Frederick acupuncture and Chinese wellness center, McLoone reports.
