Earnings from CACI, ManTech and Optelecom-NKF
Optelecom-NKF, ManTech and CACI International all reported earnings after the market's close.
*CACI of Arlington said third-quarter profit rose 20.9 percent, to $22.3 million (73 cents a share) from $18.4 million (59 cents) in the comparable period a year earlier. Revenue rose 34.1 percent, to $634.2 million. The contractor said it got awards with an estimated value of $897 milllion in the period.
"We believe there will continue to be priority funding in national defense, intelligence, and government transformation. These national priorities are CACI's priorities," said CEO Paul Cofoni.
*ManTech International of Fairfax said first-quarter profit grew more than 50 percent, to $19.9 million (57 cents) from $13.2 million (39 cents). Revenue grew 44.4 percent, to $425.1 million. The company attributed its gain in revenue to focusing on "high-end defense and intelligence markets."
ManTech won $767 million in contracts in the period.
*Optelecom-NKF of Germantown swung to a first-quarter profit of $148,000 (4 cents) from a loss of $258,000 (7 cents). Revenue grew about 19 percent, to $10.5 million.
