Wiz down early
Here's the problem when you are an NBA beat writer who happens to be hundreds of miles away from your team: a cat like DeShawn Stevenson decides to cut his dreads and you aren't there to get the scoop. I mean, that's serious stuff right there. The man grows his hair out for what, five or six years and suddenly decides to go clean in the midst of a Western Conference road trip? Shouldn't I get a memo on this?
Gilbert has that look in his eye. The one he gets when he's locked in and ready to roll. The problem is that D. Way too many easy buckets for the Kings. Good to see Antonio Daniels make a play right there, going to the cup and getting and And 1. He hasn't hit double figures since the game at Chicago.

While watching the game, I decided to channel surf a little and check out what Screamin' Stephen was doing tonight. Well, Kobe Bryant was his guest and the Screamer mentioned the Lakers/Wiz game and Gil's 60 points. He read Kobe's unflattering comments about Gil and then read Gil's flattering comments about Kobe. Kobe said that his remarks were meant to be "complimentary" and he must have been misunderstood. Said he really likes Gilbert and that he had a great game. Yeah, right, Kobe. Not a good save.

kevin martin is the truth. He's got to be the most underrated player in the league, right IC? I mean he gets no press.

Forget kobe lisa. That was bush league what he said. You want class? Gil's blog post, where he goes out of his way to compliment Kobe, thats class. The guy scored 60 on you in your house, give the man his due kobe.

Hey what's up with Doug Collins' hair? Does he really think that's a good look for him? These TNT guys with their ugly ties, ugly suits, and Doug Collins' hair.

let's listen to charles rip on the wizards.
what is up with collins' hair? sager talk him into that?
sac is streaky on their scoring, but they don't need to be streaky if we give them layups. we can win this game if all we have to do is outscore their streaks, but not if we let them cover their frequent inability to score with layups.

martin looks pretty good, but keep in mind that this is the first year that he is doing it. takes a few years to get any credit in league - just look at gilbert.
huge bonus that artest isn't playing. we have to take advantage of that.

This is how the Wizards play defense:
Against a bad 3-pt shooting team, give them easy layups. The defense has gotten progressively worse since Etan got hurt. Maybe it's the road trip, maybe it's that extra muscle.

Ivan Tha Carter Tha Terrible (we love you!!!),
DeShawn didn't really have dreads. Those were more like twists. Pretty ones, too. SO sad to see them go!!!
Dana Von Postgame Call-In Show Girl just entered THE MOTHERING HUT she's so upset by the clip job. Intern Ken is there, too, crying and yelling and thinking back to his middle school years when his mom made him get a "late-term circumcision."
DeShawn MUST HAVE GONE STIR CRAZY, LIKE IN "THE SHINING"!!! Riding around Denver hotel on a Big Wheel, playing Mario Kart on Nintendo DS Lite, slamming Hawaiian Punches and eating pretzels by the 85-cent vending-maching bagfulllllll.
Bet you DeShawn had Gilbert chop them twists off after a 12-hr. snowbound session of "HALO 2." ("Schwartzy totally wants your locks, D. Lemme cut them for good luck.")
And DeShawn grew those things out for what, a year, tops? Not 5 or 6 years. Naaawwww. If so, he'd have Etan's purrty hair, which is/are also pretty much twists (poemtry).
You want true (former) NBA dreads? Check Brian Grant. Dude could barely ball by the end, but he looked TITE (nullus). YABBY YOU!!! BIG YOUTH!!! BURNING SPEAR!!! Rastaman live 4evah!!!!
xoxoxo,
Jarkko (intern)
