Blatche charges dropped, Arenas sits out shootaround

Solicitation charges against Andray Blatche have been dropped after he completed a daylong seminar that is called "John School." Blatche didn't have to appear in court today and is in New Jersey with the Wizards as they get ready to play the Nets tonight.

Gilbert Arenas attended this morning's shootaround but did not participate. Arenas told teammates yesterday that he plans on playing but the team has not formally announced his status. Officially, he's a game-time decision. I'll check in later after pregame with an update on Gilbert, the team's mood, Eddie Jordan's goals for the night etc.

Do women who solicit men go to Jane School?

Thanks for the update. Good for AB. I just hope EJ let him play and not yank him out immediately when a player shoot on him.

I don't know if anyone caught this on the big screen at the first Wizards game...

...but what about the spot they had for the Chipotle Burrito toss. And they had Andray, with burritos (I guess) and he was being chased by a bunch of fairly attractive women?

Considering...is that even appropriate?

Hey, I'm not even sure if I'm remembering it right, but just wondering.

Has anyone checked out the Potato Valley Cafe near Verizon?

Were those fairly attractive women cops?

Does anyone else find it truthaboutit amusing as he/she tries to drive traffic to their blos/site. Why in hell do I want to listen to your blog? Please pump your site somewhere else.

Just wondering whether the layoff will have been worth it. If Gilbert's shot isn't falling, I hope he tries to get the teammates involved -- or that EJ sits him.

Don't know why, but I have an ominous feeling about tonight.

And the Hawks are looking rather good thus far, strangely enough (even when considering they're only four games in).

That's great. Now all we need are for Jamison or Arena to resume scoring. Hopefully that will come with a visit with the Nets ..

Open letter to Eddie Jordan:

If Gilbert's knee is not fully healed, DO NOT PLAY HIM 40 MINUTES!

Do not play him at all. Please let him heal.

At this point the Wizards should try to sign Earl Boykins. I did not see the game against the Magic, but against the Celts and Pacers the wiz looked sluggish. We need a spark plug on this squad like juan dixon used to be and like leandro barbosa is for the suns. Why not Boykins?

Those fairly attractive women were our own Wizards dancers.

No mystery. Gilbert is doing the "opposite" of his method he used against Boston - This time, he's not "running his mouth" making predictions...

He's a showman..hoping to surprise Jersey..catch em off guard. His game will be right. I'm certain of it.

Now lets not think Jersey who just lost a game and hasn't been resting..will be wise enough to be ready. Vincanity's game has been off thus far. Should be a fairly good game.

..who, might I add, apeared to have stepped up their game. Seriously, it looks like they are light years better than previous squads in terms of ability. Maybe Ayers worked with them, too? (dripping with sarcasm)

If Gilby plays against jersey tonight, he's going to have a tough time trying to keep up with JKidd.

Now that AB has his charges dropped, I suggest that Les BouleS have AB do the planning for their guy's night out event. I can see AB donning a pimp outfit like back in the day WWE, and have the wizards cheerleaders follow him out.

This is for Gilbert. Please don't go off again and antagonize fans and players in another NBA city. It's hard enough as it is to win on the road. I know you thought it was the right thing to do. But you're young and full of beans, pep, vigor and ready to take on the world. You believe in the organization, your teammates, and yourself. Discretion is the better part of valor however. Chill -just a little. Sure loved that shot that sent game into overtime last week. Keep that going. And sounds like your knee doesn't want to cooperate right now. Do the right thing. Rest, rehab or (shudder) surgery - whatever will get you back on court at 100%
